TREASURE ISLAND - the pantomime

A pantomime following the traditional story of ‘Treasure Island’. Aunty Lou Hawkins, owner of the Bendybow Inn, and her nephew, Jim, encounter a mysterious pirate, Billy Bones and his dog. The sudden death of Billy Bones leads them to the discovery of a treasure map and, with the help of their friends with a ship, they find a crew to embark on an adventure to the undiscovered Booty Island. At the same time, a gang of tea-drinking pirates are plotting to take over the ship and get their hands on the map and treasure…

CHARACTERS: 

Aqua - Sea sprite, narrator 

Dame Aunty Lou Hawkins - Landlady of the Bendybow Inn (The Dame)

Jim Hawkins - Nephew of Mrs Hawkins (The principal Boy)

Squire Trelawney - Businessman and explorer and owner of the ship Hyperbola

Doctor Lively - Friend and colleague of Squire Trelawney 

Jane Trelawney - Daughter of Squire Trelawney (The principal girl) 

Captain Flint - A ghostly pirate baddie

Billy Bones - A pirate (and pirate ghost)

Goodie - A policeman

Gumdrops - A policeman

BeeGee - a castaway on Booty Island and fan of the Bee Gees! (Act 2 only)

Long John Silver - A pirate leader cook with bionic leg!

Dickie-bird - An cockney parrot companion to Long John who likes rhyming slang

Psychic Sue - A baddie pirate

Myopic Pew - Short-sighted space pirate

Tetley - a pirate

Char - a pirate

Tea-leaf - a pirate

Potty - a pirate

Frank - Billy Bones’ dog  (non-speaking)(n

(number of pirates in chorus can be reduced and lines redistributed)

Chorus/dancers - (non-speaking) Bendybow Inn customers, Sea sprites, Booty Island wildlife, tea cups/pots/bags

(BeeGee can double up with one of Chorus)
