My play writing began as a child when I would write plays for my puppets - they were a bit limited as I only had three puppets: two ostriches and a baby dragon! Although my number of puppets did increase over the years, I stopped writing plays for them and got on with other things...jobs, babies, moving to France, dogs... Thirty years later, when I was running a drama club for children in the local International School, I wanted a children's play for the group that would let every child have a good role. I couldn't find a good one, so I wrote it myself, and then I continued to write plays for my drama group. At the same time I was part of a group who set up the theatre and music activity association 'TMA 31' in which I ran the children's drama group. This association put on many performances including large charity events. I'm pleased to say that 'TMA 31' is still going strong in Toulouse and has got even bigger and better! Whilst in France I also continued to write lots more scripts, including some for the local 'Secret Panto Society' Toulouse . I also directed several of their pantos and even wandered on stage myself as an ugly sister, a gondolier, a bad fairy, a silly cowgirl and a bad girl pirate....
Then, three years ago I moved to Brussels, Belgium and straight away threw myself in at the deep end by co-writing and -directing the English speaking panto 'Beauty and the Beast' for ECC Brussels. Since then I have also been involved in making panto costumes (mainly big over-the-top dame attire) and continue to write as much as I can...
